Hi, I’m Mason Amacker, the founder of Amacker Homestead. My passion for homesteading stems from a lifelong dedication to self-sufficiency, sustainability, and ethical farming practices. With a background in operations management, systems, and construction, I bring a unique combination of technical expertise and hands-on experience to our homestead.
Before embarking on this homesteading journey, I spent years as an operations manager, security systems technician, and welder/machinist—experiences that have equipped me with the problem-solving skills and attention to detail necessary to run a successful homestead. I’m also deeply committed to creating a space where others can learn practical, real-world skills in homesteading, sustainable agriculture, and basic construction.
At Amacker Homestead, we strive to make fresh, organic food accessible to everyone, regardless of the size of their space. I believe that anyone—whether living on a sprawling farm or in a small urban home—can supplement their diet by growing and raising food at home. Through our work with livestock, gardening, and self-sufficiency practices, we aim to help people take control of their food sources while promoting fairness, compassion, and respect for animals.
Our mission is simple: to empower people to live a healthier, more sustainable life, while fostering a stronger sense of community through shared knowledge and collaboration. By volunteering with us, adopting a chicken, or supporting our efforts, you’re helping to create a more resilient, connected world—one homegrown meal at a time.
Thank you for visiting Amacker Homestead. I look forward to sharing this rewarding journey with you!
